Nail fungus also known as onychomycosis is a fungal infection that affects either finger or toe nails. Usually this condition develops over time, once you notice a change in the colour or look of your nail it is important to get it looked at and treated as soon as possible. Nails with fungus can have yellow spots, crumble easily, be very thick, and feet may present with an odour.

To remove long term growth of fungal nails laser is usually required, but to prevent further fungal growth it is recommended to use anti-fungal spray or cream, avoid being bare feet in public areas (ex. pool areas), dry your feet and in between your toes after showers/baths, and avoid getting manicures/pedicures in salons that do not clean their tools between each person.
