Fungal Nails

This before picture is an example of a diabetic client who has an infected great toe. An Initial assessment for peripheral neuropathy was given which indicated that this client was positive for neuropathy. As far as treatment, the client’s feet and toe nails were cleaned, cut and detritus removed. This client was recommended to seek medical help from their family doctor to further go treatment on their infected toe. Education also provided to avoid potential complications from decreased sensation in their feet.

Heel Fissures

This is an example of someone who has bilateral heel fissures. Dry heels can lead to deep cracks, bleeding and painful feet. This client underwent foot soaks, debridement and regular moisturizing with a urea based cream to help resolve these fissures from returning. The after picture is an example after a treatment along with education to help maintain healthy feet.

Arthritic Toes with Long/Thick Nails

This is an example of a patient suffering from severe rheumatoid arthritis in both hands and feet. This patient was unfortunately incapable of cutting their own toe nails due to the arthritis in their hands. Their toe nails appear thick and hard with fungus. After their second treatment their nails were at a much healthier.

Diabetic Feet

This is an example of a client who does not appear to need significant foot care needs, but considering their medical background they found it beneficial to seek help professional care for their feet. This client is diabetic, who has poor vision and would not be able to do simple care for their feet. This client benefited from regular checkups of their feet to observe for potential hazards or complications. Diabetic foot care education was provided along with a foot soak, debris removal, nail trimming and neuropathy testing. This type of client would generally be seen for regular treatment every 6 weeks.
